Partick Thistle v Celtic - Friday 19:45, Sky Sports 1
Partick slumped to their third defeat in four winless games as they went down 1-0 at St Johnstone and so have dropped down to 7th with a couple of games to go. Celtic, meanwhile, eased to a 3-1 victory at Hearts to take their points tally to 100 for the season as they’ve shown no signs of letting up despite the title being secured long ago now.
Partick have lost only twice in their last nine at Firhill Stadium but it’s telling that both of those defeats came against top-four sides Rangers and St Johnstone. They’ve in fact lost all six of their home games against top-four opposition this term, though they did manage to find the net in four of these including in a 4-1 defeat when Celtic visited earlier on in the season.
Though Celtic are continuing to win, they have been a little more lax defensively since winning the title officially as they’ve kept only one clean sheet in their last nine. Indeed, they’ve shut out their opponents in only three of their last 11 on their travels, making the away win and both teams to score a strong bet here at 3.25. For those looking for longer shots, the 3-1 and 4-1 Celtic correct scores look overpriced at 13.0 and 21.0 respectively as Brendan Rodgers’s men have averaged 3.5 goals per game over their last 11 on the road and won 4-1 here earlier in the campaign.
