I believe Luke Donald is worth the risk in his three ball with Leishman and Monty. Monty got off to a terrible start on Thursday but rallied before dropping three shots on the back 9 to finish level par. Donald finished +2 and Leishman +3. The market has overreacted a shade to Montgomerie's performance on day one and I believe Donald is overpriced. The weather will be a bit rougher tomorrow and I believe that will play into Luke's hands. Leishman's swashbuckling style isn't exactly suited to Troon and I can't see Montgomerie turning in anything better than plus three on the back nine. It all points towards Donald having the game to beat them tomorrow. Anything at 7/4 or bigger is handy enough.
Alex Noren is worth a wager in his 'three ball' with Kevin Chappell and Steven Bowditch. Bowditch is knocking it around these days like a 10 handicapper, and I personally know how bad that feels! It renders this more or less a two dog shoot out and given Noren's current form on the links I believe Even money is a suitable wager. Chappell may not be easily fought off as he likes a tighter test off the tee but if Noren can continue his solid form, although it may take a while to get the beating of his opponent, he should oblige in the end.
