Mares Chase Key Runners & Contenders

Last year’s winner Limerick Lace is likely to try and keep the crown in her possession having taken the scalp of Dinoblue, but she has been well beaten in both of her starts this campaign and maybe her effort in the Grand National when 10th has taken a lot out of her.

Dinoblue attempts to go one better this year and she arrives into the race in much better form. She recently got the better of  Allegorie De Vassy at Navan and that looks the ideal setup for this contest.

The latter is talented on her day but she could only finish fourth last year and was a beaten favourite when second the year before that. As for Dinoblue again, I don’t think she had any excuses when beaten by Limerick Lace last year, so I’m mindful that her odds are too short.

The one runner I do want to give a mention to though is Telepathique, who has won four of her five starts in this sphere. She seems overpriced given the giant strides she has made this season.

Mares Chase Trainers & Jockeys to Watch

Willie Mullins has won two of the four runnings, so keep an eye on his possible participants. The other two runnings have been won by Gavin Cromwell and Colm Murphy.

Paul Townend, Mark Walsh, Keith Donoghue and Brian Hayes all have one win each, so again, look out for who will ride in the race.

Mares Chase Betting Tips

Given last year’s winner has been poor in two starts this season and both Dinoblue and Allegorie De Vassy had no excuses when second and fourth last year, I’m liking the odds about TELEPATHIQUE (best price 12/1)

She has impressed in winning four of her chase starts and her assured jumping under an attacking ride should see her flourish around this venue. If she gets into a rhythm, her odds will tumble in running. She wears her heart on her sleeve and looks very attractive to at least hit the frame, or even potentially win this race. Lots to like.
