The impressive point-to-point winner has been popular in the ante-post markets this weekend
Willie Mullins looks to have another talented bumper horse on his hands if this weekend’s ante-post betting is to be believed. Stay Humble was an impressive five length winner of his only point-to-point start back in April and was subsequently purchased by Andrea and Graham Wylie before being sent to the Mullins yard for his career under rules.
The owner-trainer combination already boast a strong battalion of Festival winners including the likes of Yorkhill, Black Hercules and Nichols Canyon and have a strong recent record in the Festival’s Champion Bumper - sending out the winner in 2013 and finishing runner-up in both 2014 and 2016.
Their latest hope was cut by some bookmakers over the weekend with the strong market support leading to bookies taking evasive action. Now best price 25/1, the four-year-old had been as big as 33’s at the start of the month. In total, just under 12% of all Cheltenham ante-post bets this weekend were on the Mullins horse, placing him second in terms of popularity to Gordon Elliott’s Samcro with 16%.
