Amidst all the fallout, Paddy Power priced up the possibility of no Irish trainer to run at the Grand National at 33/1 just two weeks ago, but that's been slashed to 8/1.
With no sign of the political crisis ending, it’s looking like the fallout could impact our sporting calendar.
The odds have continued to tumble over the last few days, with the 33/1 price going from 33s, into 16s, followed by 10s and now it is at the lowest price it has ever been.
The 2018 Cheltenham Cross Country and Grand National winner is the most popular ante-post selection with Oddschecker punters and makes up 18% of total bets, but backers could be left heartbroken if the unthinkable happens.
Vintage Clouds, Native River and Elegant Escape backers could stand to profit, however, as they all can be found at the top of the market, sharing the 25/1 best price of the Irish-trained duo.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “Amongst all the Brexit headlines there is little discussion on what immediate impact it could have on the sport.
“If the market is right then there is a growing risk that one of the defining events in the calendar could be impacted this year in an undoubtedly detrimental way.”
