Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions – Thursday 17:30, Sky Sports 2

Thanksgiving Thursday in the NFL and just like in previous year’s there are three live games on Sky Sports for NFL fans to enjoy. The Detroit Lions are traditionally at home on Thanksgiving having been involved in games on Turkey day since 1934 and this year proves no exception as they host the Minnesota Vikings in the first live game which kicks off at 5.30pm.

The Lions come into this clash on a two game winning streak, albeit with a bye week sandwiched between them. Prior to the bye they defeated Thursday’s opponents the Vikings 22-16 in Minnesota so will be looking forward to more of the same on home turf.

It’s been a tale of two halves for the Vikings this season as they won their first five matches but then lost their next four, before returning to winning ways at home last week against the Arizona Cardinals. They are of course without star running back Adrian Peterson, so again they’ll have to rely on their superb defence to try and win them this game.

The Lions offence struggled even in victory last week so this represents a fantastic opportunity for Minnesota to gain revenge so soon after their defeat in the reverse fixture. With their defence playing so well, The Vikings look fantastic value to us at odds against.
