Heisman Odds: Kenneth Walker III The Most Backed Pick To Win Heisman

The Kenneth Walker III Heisman odds hype has cooled down a bit over the past few weeks. Walker, a transfer from Wake Forest, put up an insane 233 yards on the ground against Rutgers two weeks ago. But, a down game vs. Indiana and a bye week this past weekend have bettors looking elsewhere. Or, that’s at least what I would have thought.

Instead, according to our friends at BetMGM, Kenneth Walker III is actually the most-backed pick when it comes to this season’s Heisman odds. Right now, you can get Walker at +4000, but he was as short as +2000 before Week 7.

Just how good has Kenneth Walker III been this season? Does he really have a shot at winning the Heisman? What do the rest of the 2021 Heisman odds look like? Let’s find out.

Heisman Odds

The top of the Heisman odds board doesn’t have Kenneth Walker III anywhere near it. But, that could all change with a massive performance this week.

The No. 8 Michigan State Spartans host rival No. 6 Michigan. Michigan has a strong defense, especially against the run, and if Walker was to put up eye-popping numbers in a win, we may see his Heisman odds slashed drastically.

Right now, Walker is +4000 to win the Heisman. That implies a 2.4% chance.

Leading the way for Heisman odds is Alabama QB Bryce Young. Young, in his first year as the Alabama starter, has looked fantastic. His team is No. 3 in the country and he’s thrown 26 TDs to just three INTs. Young’s best Heisman odds are +185.

Behind Young is fellow SEC QB Matt Corral. Corral has led the Ole Miss Rebels to a top-10 ranking behind a strong offense. He’s a dual-threat QB that makes defenses pay in a number of ways, so it’s not a shock to see his +350 Heisman odds. The issue for Corral is he lost to Alabama already this season.

Rounding out the top three is Ohio State QB CJ Stroud. Stroud got off to an underwhelming start to the season, but he’s probably been the best player in the entire country over the past two weeks. Stroud himself can help his own Heisman odds (+600) with a win against No. 20 Penn State this week.
