New Orleans Saints 2022 NFL Draft Options
A rebuild is underway in New Orleans as the Saints went back to back seasons losing first their franchise quarterback and now their franchise coach. Now, an offseason of uncertainty ensues for one of the most stable franchises of the last decade.
With the 18th and 49th pick in the first two rounds of this April’s NFL Draft, let’s take a closer look at who the Saints could snag off the board.
18th Overall Pick: Treylon Burks, WR
Though it will be a toss-up to if he’s still available, I like Burks to land here should he be. My assumption is they stay with Jameis Winston as QB1, and with Michael Thomas’ uncertainty in New Orleans also being of concern, whoever is at QB will be in need of a WR1.
At 6’3” 225, Burks would instantly be one of the biggest slot receivers in the game and has the yards after catch ability to be a difference-maker on day one. With a new head coach stepping in and with the league’s shift to offense, look for the Saints to bring in a playmaker who could step on the field right away.

49th Overall Pick: Darian Kinnard, OT
Whether it be Winston or another QB, the Saints need to sure up an offensive line that allowed 2.2 sacks per game this season. I think Kinnard can be that and is the lineman on my list that will most likely be available at 47.
A four-star recruit that landed at Kentucky, Kinnard has the size (6’5” 345) and the strength to step in and see snaps right away in the NFL. Competing against the very best in the SEC, I see Kinnard as an NFL-ready talent and a great fit for the Saints as his emphasis was run blocking in Kentucky; a dream for the franchise RB Alvin Kamara.
