2023 Super Bowl Odds: Aaron Rodgers Extension Makes the Packers a Super Bowl Favorite
Oddsmakers were cautious with the Packers when creating odds for the winner of Super Bowl 57. Yes, they were still a contender, but they weren’t among the favorite. Aaron Rodgers’ extension changes everything.

The Packers came into today with +1500 odds to win the Super Bowl, those odds have been cut to as low as +900. That's a change from an implied 6.3% chance to an implied 10% chance to win it all. It also moves the Packers into third on the odds market, behind only the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s right, the Packers have better odds to win the Super Bowl than the defending champion LA Rams.
Interestingly, the Broncos odds have not really been affected. They dropped from +2200 to +2500, but that’s nothing. Even with losing out on Rodgers, they’re still considered among the top teams in the AFC. They’re currently 5th among AFC teams in Super Bowl odds, tied with the Chargers and Titans.

Aaron Rodgers is staying in Green Bay. That means the expectations are through the roof. With a new 4 year 200 million dollar contract, the pressure is on Rodgers to lead the Packers back to the Super Bowl. Something he hasn’t done since 2010. Oddsmakers are just showing that, by making the Packers the favorites to win the NFC. That’s the expectation now.
