Washington Super Bowl Odds: How the Carson Wentz Trade Impacts the Odds
Carson Wentz is on the move! After a busy day yesterday in the NFL with Aaron Rodgers drama and Russell Wilson getting trades, Carson Wentz is now getting traded to the Washington Commanders for a couple of third-round picks.
Last year, the plan for Washington was to ride with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback but in Week 1 he suffered a season-ending injury, so they rode out the rest of the way with Taylor Heinicke.

Now they will take on the Carson Wentz contract after an inconsistent year from him. He went 9-8 last year with 3,563 yards 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Injuries have plagued him through the entirety of his career and he's never really been the same since his 2017 breakout year.
In a win and in game against the Jaguars this year, he threw an interception and lost a fumble in the Colts' 26-11 loss. So how does this impact Washington's Super Bowl odds?

Washington's Super Bowl odds did not change much after the trade. At this point, the impact of Carson Wentz doesn't change much at all for sportsbooks as he's too much of a question mark to really move the needle forward that much. It's not like the movement we say yesterday when Russell Wilson was on the move or when we found out Aaron Rodgers was staying put.
Now, the Indianapolis Colts will be tasked with trying to find a new quarterback. If they go the veteran route again, perhaps they are the landing spot for Jimmy Garrapolo as it seemingly is down to the Colts or Pittsburgh Steelers who make the most sense for the veteran quarterback. I wouldn't imagine the Colts' Super Bowl odds will change much with a move like that as it seems like a lateral step.
