It hasn’t taken long for Ronald Acuna to return to being an elite hitter. After tearing his ACL last season, Acuna made his season debut on May 23rd and has quickly piled up the stats. The Braves outfielder is slashing .396/.504/.698 with five doubles, eight home runs, and 15 RBIs in 96 at-bats.
He has a 57.7% hard hit rate, 18.3% barrel rate and an average exit velocity of 93.6 miles per hour. Acuna has multiple hits in three straight games and at least one hit in 23 of 27 games. Acuna will face Mets right-hander Paul Blackburn in New York with temperatures in the high-80s with 10 miles per hour winds blowing out to left field.
Acuna faced Blackburn last Wednesday and hit a home run. Blackburn has a 6.92 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 13 innings and Acuna has a .551 wOBA against righties. Acuna has at least two total bases in nine of the last 12 games and is averaging 2.5 total bases per game.

James Wood has emerged as one of the best hitters in baseball. In his second season, Woods’ statcast page is full of red. He is in the 90th percentile or better in nine categories, including hard hit rate (99th percentile), barrel percentage (99th) and average exit velocity (97th).
Wood is slashing .279/.376/.558 with 27 runs, 19 doubles, 21 home runs, 57 RBIs, and nine stolen bases in 294 at-bats. Wood thrives against right-handers and will face one in Padres pitcher Stephen Kolek.
Wood has hit 15 of his 21 home runs against righties with a .992 OPS and a 171 wRC+. Wood has homered three times in the last four games, five times in the last 10 games and gone over this line in four of the last six games.
