Josh Dobbs and the Vikings deserve their flowers for some of their big wins at Green Bay and against the 49ers, but not all of their wins have been as impressive. The Vikings finally dropped their first loss of the season with Dobbs under center last week in Denver, but they still managed to cover. At some point, Josh Dobbs is going to have to not cover, or Vegas is going to go bankrupt.
The public has their eyes on the Vikings once again tonight, with over 75% of bets and handle currently backing the home favorite on the spread. As the public continues to pile on the Vikings wagers, this line has yet to move. It seems like the books are more than content with being overexposed on the Vikings -3 tonight.
I’m not going to sit here and try to convince you that the Bears are a good team. They have been playing better recently though, and with the new addition of Montez Sweat, this defense has kept them in games for the last month. Their rush defense is effective, which should help limit Alexander Mattison’s production.
The Vikings will be reliant on Dobbs’ arm to win this game, and how long can he continue this Jeremy Lin-type performance? Considering the Bears are only getting three points on the road tonight, I’m willing to bet his legacy run ends tonight. Don’t be surprised if the Bears catch their rivals sleeping at home tonight and win this game outright behind a legacy Justin Fields performance.
