6 Minute Read2025 Rocket Classic Sleepers and Value Picks:
The PGA Tour heads to Michigan for the upcoming 2025 Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club this week. It's a full field of 156 golfers, with Collin Morikawa valued as the early betting favorite at +1200 odds.
Without Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, there's a lot of potential sleepers and value picks to target in the outright winner betting market at the Rocket Classic this week. The course is also built for golfers to go low.
Detroit Golf Club is a par 72 that runs 7,370 yards. Four par 5s and four par 4s under 400 yards means scorecards should be filled with red in what's expected to be a birdie-fest.

2025 Rocket Classic Sleeper Picks
Harry Hall (+3500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
No one in this field is better than Harry Hall when it comes to putting. In fact, the Englishman leads the entire PGA Tour in putts per round, while sitting second in putting average and SG: Putting metrics.
Hall is coming off of a T6 finish at the Travelers Championship. He's recorded two top 10 finishes in the past three events played. Also ranked 17th SG: Around the Green, meaning Hall has a potent short game to launch into contention at +3500 odds.
Davis Thompson (+4000) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
One of four golfers who posted a runner-up finish behind Cam Davis at the 2024 Rocket Classic, Davis Thompson is a value play at his current 40-1 price in the outright winner betting market this week. He's been good with his driver in 2025 but the short game needs to improve, with Thompson ranked 124th scrambling and 138th in putting average.
The 26-year-old Georgia native won the 2024 John Deere Classic, marking his lone PGA Tour victory. Thompson only has one top 10 finish this season, which came at The PLAYERS Championship back in mid-March.
Thompson does have some impressive metrics aside from his struggling short game this year. He's ranked 27th SG: Off-the-Tee, including 24th total driving and 41st driving accuracy. Also 42nd at finding greens in regulation at 67.5 percent, 47th hole proximity and 32nd in birdie average.
Thompson's going to need to lean into his tee-to-green efficiency to overcome his streaky putter. It's enough to justify placing a small wager on him at +4000 odds.
Alex Smalley (+5500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
2025 has had a lot of ups and downs for Alex Smalley. He's ranked highly in a lot of key metrics this season, most notably fourth in total strokes gained and scoring average.
Smalley is second on par 4s, 19th in birdie average, 16th scrambling, 30th driving accuracy and 24th at finding greens in regulation. He doesn't have a lot of quality finishes at Detroit Golf Club, missing the cut here in 2024.
There are enough quality parts of Smalley's game that are trending up right now. He's a strong sleeper prospect in the outright winner betting market, available to bet at +5500 odds ahead of Round 1 at the 2025 Rocket Classic.
Taylor Moore (+6600) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
Taylor Moore is a golfer I seldom target in any betting market, let alone as an outright winner. The 31-year-old has been very good at this event though, posting three consecutive top 10 finishes at Detroit Golf Club.
Ranked 36th SG: Off-the-Tee, including top 50 in both driving distance and total driving. 52nd for greens in regulation at 66.5 percent and top-50 in scoring average (70.15) in 2025.
Moore's best finish since May was a T19 at the PGA Championship. He's coming off of a missed cut at the RBC Canadian Open, so he should be refreshed after a three-week hiatus. 66-1 is too tempting to pass on a golfer who has consistently turned in top 10 finishes at previous Rocket Classic events.
Victor Perez (+8000) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
Back-to-back top 20 finishes for Victor Perez have created a bit of momentum heading into the Rocket Classic. The French golfer only has one top 10 finish in 2025 but ranks 43rd in total strokes gained, including 24th SG: Approach and 15th total driving.
Perez has an accurate driver and irons, ranked eighth at finding greens in regulation. It's led to sitting 30th in scoring average (69.92) and 31st on par 4s this season.
At 80-1 in the outright winner market, Perez could climb into contention, despite making his first appearance at Detroit Golf Club.
