PGA DFS Picks for 2025 PGA Championship: Experts High on Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed

The 2025 PGA Championship is set to tee off in Charlotte, North Carolina this week, and it's not all about the outright winners. Tera Roberts is here to build her PGA Championship DFS lineups, featuring core stars and value plays to add on. This week, she's targeting Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed at Quail Hollow, among others.

PGA DFS Picks for 2025 PGA Championship: Experts High on Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed

It’s time for our second major of the year - the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow! The field is stacked with 156 players, but the T70 cut allows us to take some risks.

Quail Hollow stretches to a beastly 7,626 yards and plays as a Par 71. This is the second time Quail Hollow has hosted the PGA Championship. The first was in 2017, and it’s important to note that the timing of the 2017 tournament made the course play far differently than what we should see this year - particularly with rain involved. Keep that in mind as you look at 2017 results.

2025 PGA Championship DFS Breakdown

Key Factors for Success

  • Strokes Gained Off-the-Tee: Driving accuracy can be a big advantage. The course is lined with towering trees, and water comes into play on several holes.
  • Strokes Gained Approach and Par 4 Scoring: Top 10 finishes have typically gained on approach at a higher rate than most tournaments. For those who don’t have distance, excellent long iron play is a must.
  • Strokes Gained Putting: Can you succeed without being an excellent putter? Sure. Can you win without it? Odds are slim.
  • Driving Distance: Bombers have a major advantage here.

PGA Championship DraftKings DFS Picks

PGA DFS Core Lineup

  • Bryson DeChambeau ($11,500): DeChambeau is very chalky, but you can get different elsewhere. He’s truly built for this course, in excellent form and looking for revenge on Rory McIlroy.
  • Patrick Reed ($8,100): He’s priced up from the Masters, but ownership should be reasonable. Reed has an excellent course history and knows how to finesse the course despite low driving distance.
  • Keith Mitchell ($6,200): “Keith Mitchell on a Thursday” is a true American hero. He’s mispriced here, likely because there’s no chance he’ll win. However, he’s a perfect course fit, has two top 10 finishes at Quail Hollow and will pay off at his pricing.

PGA DFS Value Plays

  • JJ Spaun ($6,400): Spaun has two strong performances at Quail Hollow (T18, T27 at Wells Fargo). His distance is adequate, with strong approach and putting. If his ownership comes in sub-10%, he could be a difference-maker.
  • Gary Woodland ($5,800): Woodland’s recent form has been erratic - hence, the pricing - but he’s got the distance, has strong course history and can get hot with the putter.
  • Sami Valimaki ($5,500): While his distance off the tee isn’t wildly impressive, he nails the requirements for approach, putting and long irons.
  • Others: Erik Van Rooyen ($5,700), Dean Burmester ($6,900), Budd Cauley ($6,200)

PGA DFS Additional Plays

  • Rory McIlroy ($12,200): I emphasized driving distance, and that’s a major reason why McIlroy thrives at Quail Hollow. He’s in a wee bit of a Masters’ hangover, but he remains the favorite here.
  • Ludvig Aberg ($10,800): Hello contrarian play! When he’s at his best, this course screams Aberg. If we learned anything from the Masters, Aberg is a gamer who can show up at big events regardless of poor recent form.
  • Justin Thomas ($9,900): The course will play differently than his 2017 PGA Championship (Quail Hollow) win, but Thomas is in peak form and his pricing discount is very appealing.
  • Wyndham Clark ($8,500): Clark is another contrarian play with sub-5% ownership due to terrible recent form, but is a recent Quail Hollow winner at the 2023 Wells Fargo.
  • Corey Conners ($8,300): Conners doesn’t have the distance, but his post two outings at Quail Hollow (T13, T8 at Wells Fargo) show he has the accuracy, long iron play and mental fortitude to work around it.
  • Others: Scottie Scheffler ($13,400), Xander Schauffele ($10,700), Jason Day ($8,800 - injury monitor), Min Woo Lee ($8,600), Akshay Bhatia ($7,300), Rickie Fowler ($7,100),

PGA Championship Betting Picks

  • Outright Winner: Justin Thomas (+2200), Bryson DeChambeau (+950)
  • Top 5 Finish: Corey Conners (+900), Patrick Reed (+1100)
  • Top 20 Finish: JJ Spaun (+320), Keith Mitchell (+300)
  • Top 40 Finish: Stephan Jaeger (+150), Dean Burmester (+130)
