Dodgers vs. Braves Same-Game Parlay: Can Dustin May, Dodgers Continue Winning Streak on Sunday Night?

Sunday Night Baseball will feature the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park tonight. It's the sixth matchup between these two National League opponents in 2025, with the Dodgers boasting a perfect 5-0 head-to-head record.

The Braves have Bryce Elder on the bump against the Dodgers' loaded lineup, while Los Angeles is expected to roll out Dustin May as their starting pitcher on Sunday Night Baseball. Elder is 1-1 with a 5.33 ERA, while May is marginally better with a 3.95 ERA and identical 1-1 record.

Oddsmakers remain bullish on the Dodgers, valuing them as -135 moneyline road favorites. The run total is set to 9.5, juiced on the under at -118 odds.

The two games played at Truist Park this weekend have alternated between low-scoring and high-scoring wins by Los Angeles. The Braves gave up seven runs in the first four innings on Saturday night, leading to a 10-3 loss. On Friday night, Atlanta scored only one run in the 7th inning, resulting in a 2-1 loss.

Dodgers vs. Braves Same-Game Parlay

Leg 1: Freddie Freeman Over 0.5 Hits (-290)

Freddie Freeman has been red hot at the plate lately. The former Braves slugger will likely continue to rack up base hits on Sunday Night Baseball against Bryce Elder.

Elder pitched fairly well against the Dodgers back on April 2nd, allowing three hits. However, two of those hits were home runs in the 4th inning. Freeman did not play in that game.

In his last four games as a starter, Elder has allowed between five to nine hits. Freeman is a left-handed batter against a right-handed pitcher who has not had his best stuff so far in 2025. This creates a favorable matchup for Freeman, who is riding an eight-game hitting streak, including three hits recorded on Saturday night.

Let's back Freeman to record at least one hit for the first leg of our three-leg Dodgers vs. Braves Same-Game Parlay.

Leg 2: Dustin May Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-154)

Dustin May has looked solid during his return to the Dodgers this season. The 27-year-old right-handed pitcher is facing an Atlanta lineup that has averaged 9.0 strikeouts per game in its last three outings, tied for seventh-most in the MLB.

May only punched out three batters during his last start against Miami. However, he struck out five Cubs batters and seven players for the Rockies in previous starts. May has gone over 3.5 strikeouts in three of five starts during 2025, including during his debut against the Braves on April 1st. He finished that start with six strikeouts.

This line is set too low on May, likely due to only striking out three Marlins batters during a 7-6 win on April 28th. I trust May to get the job done against one of the league's most aggressive lineups at the plate.

Let's insert May to record four or more strikeouts at -154 odds for the second leg of this Dodgers vs. Braves Same-Game Parlay.

Leg 3: Los Angeles Dodgers Moneyline (-135)

I'm going to back the Dodgers against the Braves until they prove otherwise. May isn't the best pitcher on Los Angeles' roster but he's definitely playing better than Elder.

Elder could get shelled by the Dodgers lineup tonight, especially with Freeman back in the mix, unlike during the 6-5 loss at Dodger Stadium early last month. Los Angeles has won seven straight games and have held a lead after the first three innings in six of their previous seven.

The Dodgers rank fourth in batting average (.257) compared to the Braves at .241, which is tied for league average. In 2025, Los Angeles is third for runs scored per game (5.42), while Atlanta is averaging a paltry 4.09 runs per game. This is below the league average at 4.32 runs per game.

I'm backing the better offense and trusting a team that has gone a perfect 5-0 against their opponent in 2025. The Braves are riding a three-game losing streak, including a bad 2-1 road loss to the lowly Colorado Rockies right before this series began.

Let's play some chalk and add the Dodgers moneyline as the third and final leg of this Dodgers vs. Braves Same-Game Parlay. At +285 odds, this feels like a great way to bounce back with a nearly 3-1 win in our pocket.

Dodgers vs. Braves Same-Game Parlay (+285) (Bet $100 to Collect $385)

  • Leg 1: Freddie Freeman O 0.5 Player Hits (-290)
  • Leg 2: Dustin May O 3.5 Strikeouts (-154)
  • Leg 3: Los Angeles Dodgers Moneyline (-135)
