Having shaped with promise on his last three starts, ALWAYS MAGIC can make the breakthrough. Somewhat unlucky in running when fourth over C&D, the Jack Davison-trained gelding should be capable of winning a race of this nature. Thumama Glory finished in front of the selection when runner-up over track and trip on his penultimate start. Although unable to build on that effort last time, the extra furlong may not have suited. Red Lily, who has run well on both previous outings, has to be of interest on her all-weather debut.
