Steve Cooper to Palace: Swans boss now the bookies' favourite
Bookmakers have slashed odds on Welshman Steve Cooper being named as the next permanent Crystal Palace manager, following reports regarding Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Swansea boss has been cut from 5/1 into 15/8, making him clear favourite to replace Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park.
In fact, a number of bookies have shortened their odds even further, into as short as 1/1 with Bet Victor.
In the last four hours, a whopping 71% of all bets placed within the market have backed Cooper to be the next Eagles manager.

Who are the other contenders?
Eddie Howe is the new second favourite in the market at 4/1, whilst Nuno’s odds have lengthened from 1/5 yesterday, to 8/1 this morning.
Sean Dyche is now the same price as Nuno (8/1) to be appointed, followed by Frank Lampard (12/1), Chris Wilder (18/1), Patrick Vieira (25/1) and Chris Coleman (25/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “He took Swansea to the brink of the Premier League, but Steve Cooper (15/8) may still get his chance in the big time after all.
"Palace won't want a repeat of the disastrous Frank de Boer hiring, so going for Cooper, who has done such a good job in South Wales, could prove a masterstroke."
Next Palace manager odds:
- Steve Cooper – 15/8
- Eddie Howe – 4/1
- Nuno Espirito Santo – 8/1
- Sean Dyche – 8/1
- Frank Lampard – 12/1
- Chris Wilder – 18/1
- Patrick Vieira – 25/1
- Chris Coleman – 25/1
