SPECKLES has been set some stiff assignments, but she has emerged from them with her reputation enhanced. Aidan O'Brien's filly was only beaten three lengths in a Group 3 at the Curragh before making the frame in the May Hill and if those performances are a true reflection of her talent, a maiden should be a formality. Zenith Blaze couldn't build on her excellent debut second when only third as the even-money favourite at Gowran Park. There will be plenty who keep the faith, and Dundalk runner-up State Of Clarity has also shown enough to warrant a place on the shortlist. Among a clutch of really well-bred newcomers, Captivating, Duchessofaquitaine and Gods Love make particular appeal.
