MARTATOR won the 2024 renewal and his proven liking for this course is a key factor now that he bids for a repeat success, despite a 10lb higher mark. Last seen winning the Grand Annual at Cheltenham, the durable nine-year-old can be a tough nut to crack. Teddy Blue won last year's edition and is another who has to be on the shortlist. Grand Annual seventh Vanderpoel and the progressive Gore Point also warrant serious thought.
