Never travelling on that occasion, the Pat Fahy-trained gelding is better judged on his penultimate run when an excellent fifth over course and distance last month. With the forecast rain very much in his favour, the seven-year-old can prove his latest effort to be all wrong. Captain Conby has shaped well enough in two starts after a long absence to suggest that he is capable of adding to his three previous victories. Fairyhouse scorer Me Wee Bonnie Lass should also be noted, despite being raised 8lb for that win.
