STATTEN ISLAND displayed plenty of promise when fourth in a valuable event at York on his racecourse bow last month. Given the strength of that form, it would be no surprise to see Kevin Ryan's colt get off the mark at the second time of asking. That said, Thebesthasyetocome should not be underestimated following his own encouraging debut effort, while any market support for Maximus Meridius would have to be noted.
